 Release Notes for CareRight 6.75

Full reference:

Medicare has released a major change in the way software will communicate with it (client adapter technology replaced with web services).  CareRight 6.75 includes the new functionality, currently disabled until certification with Services Australia is completed.

This release includes the configuration of PRODA accounts which will replace PKI certificates for authentication.  Customers are encouraged to set this up in advance of cutover to web services.

"Private Add On Fee Indicator" is now mandatory when performing an IHC.

Receipts & Refunds

To improve system performance, a major rework on all Receipts and Refunds has been done; changing the underlying structure.

This now means that money can be (correctly) marked as unallocated at the Patient or Location level. Previously CareRight treated Receipt as either:

  • Combined payments
  • Batch payments
  • Adjustments with a transaction attached (making them a receipt)

This work has been done to add a receipts table so we can concisely identify payments in a single place. Statements are still used to link the receipt to patient accounts and a statement is added for each invoice allocated on a patient account. A statement can also be left unallocated on a patient account.

The only change end-users should see is that some of the old receipt types (batches, combined payments) can now be reallocated. The converting of a receipt to a combined payment to move money between accounts is a thing in the past!

NOTE: Data warehousing should now look at the receipts table instead of the f_statements table.

Reporting / Datasets: Migration to Reporting Views

In order to allow major future changes to CareRight's internal structure, but maintain the ability for customers to ingest data from our application we have introduced a number of backward-compatible Reporting Views.

This will allow customers to consume a stable, fixed schema of data from our application.

Appointment Booking System APIs

This release provides a new set of inbound and outbound messaging, based on more modern standards (JSONAPI, OAuth2 Client Credentials; XML) than the traditional HL7 integrations offered.

This enables:

  • Per Location notification of new Appointments, Patients
  • Ability to retrieve a list of Appointments by date range
  • Ability to reserve time for a Medical Provider
  • Ability to create, update Appointments for a Medical Provider

Invoice Claims > Ability to adjust Eclipse (Private Health) Invoices

There is now the ability to perform the same kind of adjustment to multiple invoices at once; when they are overpaid or underpaid.
