Certain CareRight installations communicate via either HL7 or a JSON API to external systems.
System Administration > Workflow > Data Producers
To send HL7 or JSON notifications to an external system, choose New, fill out the required information.
Choose your message type:
- Patient Demographics - notifications are sent as patient details change. HL7 only
- Appointments - notifications are sent as appointment statuses change
For a JSON API endpoint, CareRight authenticates with OAuth Client Credentials.

For certain systems, a JSON API can be created to retrieve free/busy information, and updates to appointments. CareRight will regularly poll the specified endpoint for information.
