Palliative Care Outcomes Collaboration (PCOC) - Configurations

CareRight supports PCOC v3.0.

Configurations Required

1. Permissions Associated

System Admin > Users and Groups > Permissions

In order to activate PCOC data capture, users must be granted one of the following permissions:


2. Location Configuration

In order to configure PCOC, you will have received a Service Identifier. This is set at the location level.

System Admin > Locations > Add PCOC Service Identifiers


3. Set Provider PCOC Identifier

Dashboard> Providers> Add PCOC Team Identifier

4. Configure Person Field

Enable the Built-in Person Field PCOC_Diagnosis

Administration> Patients> Person Fields> Enable the field pcoc_diagnosis


5. Configure Admission Categories

We recommend pre configuring a Palliative Care admission category, with an appropriate default.

Administration> Admissions> Admissions category, Set the below Data elements

  1. Care Type: Palliative Care
  2. Ensure the below fields are enabled;
    1. Palliative Care Days
    2. Palliative Care Status
    3. First Admission for Palliative Care Treatment
    4. Previous Specialised Non-Admitted Palliative Care Treatment    
    5. Coronary Care Unit Charges
    6. Coronary Care Unit Days


6. Set Assessment to capture PCOC data

Clintel will make available a particular assessment and the associated trigger scripts; to allow day to day evaluation of Patients in palliative care.
