Overview

CareRight handles Assistance Billing in two different scenario

  1. Billing the Medical Provider in CareRight as the Assistant Surgeon - The medical provider in CareRight is assisted by a primary surgeon.
  2. Billing the Medical Provider in CareRight for the Assistance - The medical Provider in CareRight is the Primary Surgeon and they are billing for their own items as well as for assistant items.


Notes : 

  • Assistant Billing can be done for all different account types is CareRight, Including Medicare, Health Fund etc..
  • The account provider Should be a Medical Provider, not Hospital Provider
  • Service Location should be an Inpatient Service Location.

CareRight allows the configuration of two different types of Surgical Assistant Items.

  1.  Fixed-rate Assistant Items
  2. Derived Rate Assistant Items

For configurations of Assistant Billing Items, Please refer to Surgical Assistant Items - Configurations in System Admin Guide.

Items configured for Surgical assistant billing can be Access/Edit by the system administrator, please refer to Access/Edit Surgical Assistant Items in System Admin Guide for more information.
