Express IHC Claiming

Express IHC Claiming enables the user to skip the majority of the IHC claiming screens if the conditions are met that the information can be reasonably assumed. 

Express claiming will attempt to create and validate an IHC claim for the associated invoice. If any validations fail the claim will be cancelled and validations displayed to the user as a list.

Express IHC Claiming Conditions

Express claiming will only be applied in the following scenario.

• The invoice is of IHC claim type
• The admissions have been discharged.
• The admission only has one invoice (excluding reversed) and that is the invoice associated with the claim.
• The admission is not for psychiatric care (Episode.psychiatric_care?)
• The admission is for one day.
• The admission same day status is 0,1,1a or 1b
• All items in the invoice have an IHC Cache entry for the guarantor.
• No IHC claim has already been created for the invoice (unless they are all canceled).
• Admission has only one episode.
• Admission has no more than one theatre.
• Additional Type C Certificate information will be required if any of the following conditions are met:
  • If the type of claim being generated is not paper-based; and,
  • The admission has the Requires Type C Certificate field checked; and,
  • If the Certifying Doctor field or  Nature Of Illness field is blank.

If the conditions in "Express Claiming Conditions" are met then the Express IHC Claim button will appear in the invoice.
