About this Release

In each release there may be new features and functions that require one or all of the following:

· User Training

· Specific process to be used to ensure the correct functioning

Please read the release notes and the corresponding manual pages to ensure that you understand the changes being made, what module they are associated with, and how they impact your business processes.

Care Plans, Schedule & Shift Handover

  Experimental feature: This is not generally available to all customers at this time, and is subject to further revision.

For overnight hospitals, we are extending the system to better understand what care and when is required.

Care Plans - CareRight now features the ability to set flexible schedules; such as perform an assessment at 9am, 4pm on Monday, Wednesday, Friday. The specific activities or care to be provided can be organised prior to admission, with a dedicated Care Plan assessment or similar; and turned into a schedule.

Shift Handover - Suggested assessments and charts now know their due date; and the location occupancy screens now support a preview of the next 72 hours of care. 

Enhancements

Assessments > Tooltip and Placeholder support

Where an assessment element, ie a calculation should provide a clinician with an explanation of the methodology, this can now be facilitated via tooltips.

Additionally, the methodology for a specific assessment can be recorded in a new Citation area. 

Next; many assessment elements now support placholders.

Referrals > Expiry warnings

We have extended the available checks for referral validity, and surface warnings when a referral will be expiring in the next 30 days.

Valid referrals are shown in the patient banner

If a problem with a referral is found, it is indicated in both the header, and the list view. Expiring or superseded referrals are now able to be archived (disabled) from the list view quickly.

Staff Members > Primary, secondary languages

To better match providers to patients, we've extended the capture of primary/secondary languages to staff & providers.

Prescribing > Rewritten to avoid iframes and search improvement

The current medications and prescribing user interface has been rewritten to a slightly more modern style. While the experience will be broadly the same, the underlying structure has been modernized.

Search has also been improved to more quickly locate specific drug amounts, ie "Panadol 500" would surface Panadol in a 500mg dosage; rather than all variants of Panadol.

Invoices > Bulk Print

Bulk printing invoices now runs in a background worker; to reduce the performance impact when printing several hundred invoices at once.

All Receipts / All Refunds over time

Patient Portal > Secure Logins

  Experimental feature: This is not generally available to all customers at this time, and is subject to further revision.

Initial versions of the patient portal, supporting user authentication are experimentally available.

Admin > Auditing > Automatically display recent modification audit logs to technical staff

While running an Audit report provides the full detail; for better tracing of recent changes we have surfaced the existing audit information in a number of areas in the administration user interface.

This will be improved further, to show more detailed audit logs of related items over time.

Admin > Calendar Sessions > Cloning by day

We have introduced more fine grained control over cloning specific sessions/days.

Clinical Notes: Ability to easily filter out "Assessment approved" category clinical notes

Under your user profile, users can set preferences for default clinical note categories to display.

Statutory Reporting 2025

ICD-10 13th Edition

Warning: This version still ships with ICD 10 AM 12th Edition, due to a pending licencing discussion. We expect to resolve this prior to any production release / 1st July 2025.

CareRight now ships with an updated ICD 10 version, suitable for coding of admissions from 1st July 2025.

When coding an admission, a new DCID data entry input is available.

Where there are multiple clusters, subsequent diagnoses can be added to new clusters.

Hospital Casemix Protocol (HCP) reporting

We've reviewed and updated CareRight's HCP reporting in the following areas:

• HCP 2025: Update to AR-DRG versions, to allow v12 to be selected
• HCP 2025: Mode of separation and Provider Number of Hospital to which transferred

VAED

We've reviewed and updated CareRight's VAED reporting in the following areas:

• VAED 2025: Add new Admitting/Discharging Unit/Specialty codes for Early Parenting Centres
• VAED 2025: Add code 999 to Triage Score on Admission
• VAED 2025: NDIS Participant Flag – reported by mental health care types
• VAED 2025: Add Diagnosis Cluster Identifier (DCID) for implementation in 2025-26

Note that VAED changes to palliative care data modelling have introduced new fields; specifically:

• In an Admission, where PCOC data capture is not used, Primary PCOC Phase Type is now relabelled PCOC Phase Type at Admission; and continues to report as it did previously. A new field, PCOC Phase Type at Separation is available.
• Preferred Place of Death, distinct from the existing Place of Death is required by VAED over and above the PCOC v3 standard.
• Leave Days can be manually entered, where appropriate in a PCOC Phase. This is not directly linked to admission leave.
