This article is part of the systems administration guide. You will require administration access to view the pages mentioned in this article.

Data from the patient's record can be inserted directly into the Text Editor and used in letters and clinical notes. Replacement  variables inputs existing  data/ text directly from a Patients record in CareRight.

For example: {Date of Birth} will automatically retrieve the patients date of birth from their record. Replacement variables allow for a single template to be used for all patients.

Replacement Variables  are surrounded by curly brackets { VARIABLE NAME } and are inserted via Menu Option: Insert > Replacement Variables:

We have split this section into the four types of Replacement Variables::

  • Most Recent Appointment - Fields from the most recent (today or earlier) appointment for the patient at the time of letter generation.
  • Future Appointment - Fields from the next upcoming appointment for the patient at the time of letter generation.
  • Current Appointment - Fields from the current appointment for the patient  (This is access using the right mouse click on an appointment  and selecting  Correspondence).
