Limit Item Types Available for Invoicing

Limit Item Types Available for Invoicing

When billing different types of invoices, CareRight currently presents all possible items as available to add to the invoice. When billing hospital charges different items are used to those non-hospital charges for most clients. CareRight can intelligently limit the available items that can be billed on an invoice depending on if it is a hospital invoice or not. This can be actioned by enabling a setting in Administration Global Settings. Please speak to your System Administrator.

In Hospital Billing

These are invoices for hospital services associated with an admission. These commonly cover accommodation and theatre charges, but a range of services and charges can also be billed.

An invoice is deemed a "Hospital" invoice when the following conditions apply:

  • The service location is either Inpatient or Procedure Centre.
  • The service provider is a hospital.

An item is deemed a "Hospital" item if the item type one of the following:

Other

  • HCP Accom Charge
  • HCP Theatre Charge
  • HCP Prosth. Charge
  • HCP Labour Charge
  • HCP ICU Charge
  • HCP Pharmacy Charge
  • HCP Bundled Charge
  • HCP Home Care Charge
  • HCP Transportation - For modelling Ambulance or other transportation fees

Non-Hospital Billing

These are invoices for services not provided by the hospital. An invoice is considered non-hospital when the service provider is not a hospital. These invoices may still be inpatient.

An item is a non-hospital item if the item type is NOT one of the following:

  • HCP Accom Charge
  • HCP Theatre Charge
  • HCP Prosth. Charge
  • HCP Labour Charge
  • HCP ICU Charge
  • HCP Pharmacy Charge
  • HCP Bundled Charge
  • HCP Home Care Charge

(Note this list is slightly different the previous hospital list as it does not include the 'Other' item type).

Outpatient Services Provided by A Hospital Billing

These are invoices where the service location is an 'Outpatient' or 'Rooms' type and the service provider is a hospital. In this scenario all items are available to be billed.
