About this Release

In each release there may be new features and functions that require one or all of the following:

· User Training

· Specific process to be used to ensure the correct functioning

Please read the release notes and the corresponding manual pages to ensure that you understand the changes being made, what module they are associated with, and how they impact your business processes.

Major Features

Bed Capacity Management & Patient Flow

Main Article: Room/Bed Availability & Reservations, Location Occupancy

We've improved our location centric dashboards to tie together the patient journey better, from preadmission to discharge planning and beyond.

The majority of changes focus on our Occupancy screens, to better surface alerts such as MROs or cohabitation issues.

Additionally, our rooms, beds and equipment models are more fine grained; allowing you to match patient needs to the facility's available resources more easily.

Programs > Export CSV

In programs, a number of views provide CSV export of attendance and other statistics.

Rooms & Beds > Better equipment/consumables model

So that you can match a patient's care needs to the equipment available;  rooms and beds now feature a more detailed equipment model.

Equipment/Consumables can be linked to an inventory management or asset tracking system, ie SnipeIT or similar; allowing you to model the full maintenance history, order new consumables and more.

For larger hospitals, it is now possible to group rooms together in a logical area.

Bed Allocation > Rules based Recommendations

As hospitals grow, complexity of scheduling increases. We are experimenting with bed recommendations; where a rules based system can quickly and efficiently present a proposal to a bed planner; who can than further adjust and improve the plan.

The Location Dashboard now features a pending discharges list.

This allows you quickly and easily to see:

• Pending discharges today (by date or by admission status)
• Whether a discharge letter is completed
• Whether, if configured, a discharge assessment has been completed
• Access to the discharge plan

To automatically pre-allocate a bed reservation, admission categories can be flagged as requiring overnight accommodation. Note: You will still need to correctly configure same day band and other related fields for overnight admissions.

Statutory Reporting 2025

ICD-10 13th Edition

Warning: This version still ships with ICD 10 AM 12th Edition, due to a pending licencing discussion. We expect to resolve this prior to any production release / 1st July 2025.

CareRight now ships with an updated ICD 10 version, suitable for coding of admissions from 1st July 2025.

When coding an admission, a new DCID data entry input is available.

Where there are multiple clusters, subsequent diagnoses can be added to new clusters.

Hospital Casemix Protocol (HCP) reporting

We've reviewed and updated CareRight's HCP reporting in the following areas:

• HCP 2025: Update to AR-DRG versions, to allow v12 to be selected
• HCP 2025: Mode of separation and Provider Number of Hospital to which transferred
• HCP 2025: Birth weight of infant, neonate, stillborn

We've reviewed and updated CareRight's VAED reporting in the following areas:

• VAED 2025: Add new Admitting/Discharging Unit/Specialty codes for Early Parenting Centres

• VAED 2025: NDIS Participant Flag – reported by mental health care types
• VAED 2025: Add Diagnosis Cluster Identifier (DCID) for implementation in 2025-26

Note that VAED changes to palliative care data modelling have introduced new fields; specifically:

• In an Admission, where PCOC data capture is not used, Primary PCOC Phase Type is now relabelled PCOC Phase Type at Admission; and continues to report as it did previously. A new field, PCOC Phase Type at Separation is available.
• Preferred Place of Death, distinct from the existing Place of Death is required by VAED over and above the PCOC v3 standard.
• Leave Days can be manually entered, where appropriate in a PCOC Phase. This is not directly linked to admission leave.
