Prerequisites
CareRight's HealthLink integration is supported for Australia (as of 6.97) and New Zealand.
A windows server is required which must have both of the following installed:
- HealthLink's Client
- Clintel's Uploader
The windows server must have network access to the CareRight server. The Clintel Uploader must have access to the directories used as file drops by the healthLink client and this must not be a network drive (eg C:\HLINK).
CareRight Configuration - HealthLink Import Dirs
A HealthLink Directory setting must be created for each HealthLink Server (typically there will only be one).
To add/edit the configuration navigate to: Administration > Secure Messaging > HealthLink Import Dirs
Field | Description | Example |
---|---|---|
Location | Used to attach a location to incoming HealthLink messages | Clintel Clinic |
EDI | A messaging address provided to you by HealthLink. | uatclintel |
Enabled | If Yes, sending and receiving will be processed | Yes |
Vendor | Select the correct vendor healthlink-nz for New zealand or healthlink-au for Australia. | healthlink-au |
CareRight Configuration - Locations
Australia
No specific location setup required.
New Zealand
The location associated with the HealthLink directory should be edited to set the Health Provider Index Facility Code. This is a 4 digit alphanumeric code issued by the New Zealand Ministry of Health.
To set this, navigate to: Administration > Locations
Clintel Uploader Configuration
After creating the HealthLink Directory in CareRight, the Uploader must be configured.
- Log in to the Windows server running HealthLink and Uploader
- Use a web browser to connect to the uploader configuration page, eg http://localhost:3000
- Under "HealthLink" Enter the HealthLink configuration directory (eg C:\HLINK) and click Change
- The uploader will scan the related import and export dirs. Check that permissions are reported as "Good".
- Select the Location to associate with the EDI and click Change
At this point, the Uploader will start checking CareRight for outgoing correspondence and incoming deliver correspondence to CareRight.
The HealthLink Directory administration page should now show a very recent time under "Last Communication".
Other CareRight Configuration
New Zealand
Note that recipients of HealthLink Messages must have an EDI and NZMC on their Professional Contact record to ensure correct matching.
Note that senders of HealthLink Messages should have an NZMC on their Provider record to ensure correct matching at the receiving practice.
Note that patients related to HealthLink Messages should have their NHI number saved as their CRN on their patient record - this is standard configuration for New Zealand installations of CareRight.
Refer to the user guide for more information: Sending and Receiving via HealthLink.
