Guarantors overview

A Guarantor is the entity responsible for paying an invoice. There are a variety of guarantor types:

  • Patient (this does not get setup up as a Guarantor)
  • Patient's guardian/parent etc (this does not get setup up as a Guarantor)
  • Medicare, DVA
  • Health Insurance Fund
  • Workers Compensation
  • Legal Third Party (i.e. Law Firm)
  • Military
  • Hearing Services
  • Other (i.e. private)

The Guarantor is the funding source for your patients. Some may have online services, otherwise they are paper based claims. 

CareRight has inbuilt smarts to manage claiming to Health Funds, Medicare/ DVA following the applicable predefined rules.  CareRight can also process claims to any third party can be managed as batches.  CareRight will come with a number of pre-defined/existing Guarantors however you can add, edit and disable Guarantors if required.
