ICD10 Codes
You can load CareRight with a set of diagnosis codes. This can be a subset of ICD codes, all ICD codes (Note: there are approximately 41,000), or a mixture of any of the code sets.
Alternatively, you can specify your own set of custom codes via Generic Codes (used alone or mixed with any other code set). You are responsible for the maintenance and licensing of your diagnosis codeset.
Loading standard codes
When you load a code set, from that point on, the code set you load will be available for selection in the diagnosis section of CareRight. Historical data will be retained and still contain any data selected originally.
For Statutory Reporting, the relevant ICD and DRG Codes will be used and they are automatically selected based on government requirements. Therefore, they do not need to be loaded here.
To change the current code set:
- Click Administration.
- Select Patients from the menu.
- Select Diagnosis Codes.
- Scroll down to Working Diagnosis Code Set Specification.
- Enter the Codeset abbreviation and Prefix into this field.
- You may specify one of the following as a prefix followed by a ':' (colon) and * (selects all).
- Then enter the Suffix after the ‘:’ (colon) - this is your code range/item number. i.e.: B*
- If you wish to replace the entire set of codes in the system, tick the check box "Delete all existing codes before importing".
- Note: Leave unticked if you wish to add to the codes that are already available.
- If you select the Default Code Set with a value, you don't need to specify the prefix. see Example 3.
- Click Update.
